The fire
Mixed grill, spare ribs, adana kebab, lamb chops, chicken fillet — everything goes over the grill, not into a deep fryer. A lamb chop out of a fryer is not a lamb chop.

The local speciality
First, the
kapsalon
If you are new to the Netherlands: a kapsalon is a tray of fries topped with shawarma, buried under grated Gouda, melted in the oven, then finished with fresh salad, garlic sauce and sambal. It was invented in Rotterdam around 2003 and named after a hairdresser (kapsalon means «hair salon») who ordered the same thing every day.
It is the single most Rotterdam thing you can eat. Ours starts at € 11.

Grillroom Alexandria is an Egyptian family-run grillroom at Jacob van Campenplein 63, 3067 LA Rotterdam, in the Alexanderpolder neighbourhood of the Prins Alexander district. It serves shawarma carved from its own spits, kapsalon, mixed grill, spare ribs, pita sandwiches, pizza and a full vegan range. Most dishes cost between € 9 and € 22; sharing menus for two are € 40–41. Phone +31 10 455 5780. Delivery costs from € 2,50 with a € 20 minimum order. Closed Mondays. Payment by iDEAL, Wero or cash. No reservations needed.
Dietary note: there is a dedicated plant-based menu. For allergies, please call before ordering — one kitchen means cross-contamination cannot be fully excluded.

Metro lines A and B stop at Graskruid, a few minutes' walk away. Rotterdam Alexander station is close by. There is parking around the square.

Do you deliver to my address?
We deliver across Rotterdam Prins Alexander and nearby districts: Alexanderpolder, Het Lage Land, Ommoord, Zevenkamp, Oosterflank, Nesselande and parts of Kralingen. Fees start at € 2,50 with a € 20 minimum. Check your postcode here.
Is the menu available in English?
Yes — the full menu with prices is on this site in English. The ordering system itself is in Dutch, but the dish names are the same and our team switches to English without blinking.
Do I need to book a table?
No. Just walk in. For larger groups or a big pickup order, a phone call a day ahead helps: +31 10 455 5780.
Is ordering directly cheaper than a delivery app?
Yes — 10% cheaper, and without a platform service fee. Delivery apps take a large commission from the restaurant. Order direct and that margin becomes your discount.
